The Nushagak River originates
in the Nushagak Hills and runs leisurely southward towards
Bristol Bay. Being a medium sized slow flowing river affords
for great fishing and relaxation.
There is abundant wildlife
on the river and on of the largest caribou herds in the state. The
Mulchatna herds can be seen as well as brown and black bears,
moose, beaver and a huge array of bird species.
Forests of spruce line
the banks of the river and just beyond is open tundra.
